Yes, maybe at the beginning some advertisers were getting a good response and their response was published, but this is because there were only 50 or so ads, and there is probably is about 50,000 real visitors per day, which gave them a few thousand visitors from their ad.
Its nothing more than a scam / con trick. Yes we know its not illegal to send hits to your website, but surely in this case it amounts to fraud because people have paid to advertise on the basis of this amount of traffic.
